This full day excursion in comfortable four-wheel vehicle with Bedouin driver takes you to the fascinating dunes of Wahiba Sands. You will have a once-in-a-life-time chance to truly enjoy a visit to the most beautiful desert area and you will observe the lifestyle of a Bedouin family. | Pick up service in the morning at your downtown hotel of Muscat at 9 am. You will cross the Hajar Mountains, offering spectacular scenery through colourful and ever changing stone and mineral formations. At noon you will enter the Wahiba Sands Desert and reach our Nomadic Desert Camp where you will enjoy a typical lunch with non-alcoholic drinks. You will discover the desert by 4wd vehicle and get a glimpse of the famous Bedouin hospitality at a local family offering Omani coffee and dates. Late afternoon you will reach Muscat and your hotel. |

The Real Desert Experience "Wahiba Sands"
This very special excursion in comfortable four-wheel vehicle with Bedouin driver takes you to the fascinating dunes of Wahiba Sands. You will spend the night at our ideally located Nomadic Desert Camp, explore the desert on a camel's back, observe the lifestyle of a Bedouin family and pay a visit to one of the most beautiful wadis in the mountains of Oman.
Day 01 |
Pick up service in the morning at your downtown hotel of Muscat at 10.30 am. You will cross the Hajar Mountains, offering spectacular scenery through colourful and ever changing stone and mineral formations. Picnic on route. You will visit the old mud town of Al Minzafah with up to 300 year old houses. In the afternoon you enter the Wahiba Sands and enjoy sand dune driving through the Omani Desert. Dinner at our Nomadic Desert Camp, surrounded by huge sand dunes. The day finishes peacefully at the campfire, reclining on soft cushions in Bedouin fashion. Relax in the spectacular atmosphere the desert night provides, which invites to dream. Overnight in a cosy barasti hut. (L/D) |
Day 02 |
After breakfast you will experience the beauty of the desert on camel's back. Enjoy the famous Bedouin hospitality at a local family offering a typical Bedouin meal. The sand tracks lead you through the dunes back to the road and onto one of the most beautiful wadis in the mountains of Oman - Wadi Bani Khalid. You may relax in the lush greenery, swim in the clear water pools or explore the majestic, light-coloured lime stone cliffs. Late afternoon you will reach Muscat and your hotel. (B/L) |
